Late Prof. (Dr.) CN. Purushothaman Nair
Born on April 22, 1934, in Thatta, a small village near Pandalam in Pathanamthitta District, Dr. C.N.Purushothaman Nair, better known as Dr.CNP Nair, entered the services of State Bank of India in 1957 after completing his post graduation in commerce from Sagar University, Madhyapradesh. He continued in SBI till 1961 and then changed back and took up teaching in NSS College, Pandalam. In 1968 he moved to San Francisco, California, USA to take up employment in Liberty National Bank.
During his stint in the USA, he obtained MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business, Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California. He later took PhD from Sagar University in 1973, Dr. Nair joined Calicut University. He continued there as Professor and Head, Department of Commerce and Management Studies till 1985. And then he shifted to the University of Kerala as Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce. He was also the founder Director of the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK) started in 1992. Dr.C.N.P.Nair retired from the University of Kerala in 1994. Post-retirement, he founded the School of Management in Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and functioned as the director for one year. Later he took charge as Chairman of the Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR) Thiruvananthapuram in which post he continued till his untimely departure from this world.
Dr.C.N.P.Nair had successfully guided the doctoral research work of several scholars. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce of the University of Calicut, University of Kerala, as also Mahatma Gandhi University and had been the Chairman of the Board of Studies in several Universities in South India. Dr.Nair had published a number of research articles in reputed commerce and management related journals and also authored several books. He was also the Co-ordinator of IGNOU at Bharathiya Vicharakendram; Thiruvananthapuram.Dr.Nair is survived by his wife and three children.

MANAGEMENT RESEARCHER
Management Researcher started publishing in 1994 with the doyen of management Professor C. N. Purushothaman Nair as the founder editor. Since then with its unfailing efforts of publishing articles on very ancient and most modern management topics, it encouraged scholars to publish papers on subjects as varying as Arthasastra to Artificial Intelligence. A cross-section of the Commerce and Management fraternity finds pride in publishing their article in MANAGEMENT RESEARCHER. It is a quarterly publication of the Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR) based at, Cheriyakonni, Mylam, Trivandrum. The journal was started to publish research articles, based on various academic activities and consultancy. The Editorial Board consists of eminent scholars from reputed management Institutions like the Indian School of Business, and various national and international Institutes, who proved their academic brilliance in their respective areas. Management researcher abides by the best practices in publication and encourage scholars to express their creative and innovative ideas through our publication. Every year, one student of BCom/BBA is given a Scholarship of Rs 25,000/- for studying CMA Programme. The selection is based on a written test on Accounting and an Interview. The eligibility criteria is not less than 70% marks in SSLC and Plus Two or equivalent examination.
